The Dear Eyes palette has become my daily go-to in the last couple of weeks. It’s pretty, neutral, and the two lighter colours give some pale pop without turning into either glitter bombs or death mask mattes like some other highlight shadows – just a nice subtle sheen that immediately gives that sort of pulled together look when you’re in a hurry. The brown is a good chocolate and completely matte for contrasting definition.
I also like that, as with all truly natural shadows, they seem to be slightly less pigmented than some out there – which means it’s harder to shovel too much on for notorious over-appliers like me, but they’re also very buildable if you’re after more impact.
The Novum lipsticks are nice and glossy – they’re so insanely moisturising I think of them as halfway between a lipstick and a gloss with staying power, and can be used to replace the combination of the two which I usually wear. The colours are spot on too; I use the Miraculous Rose during the day as a pretty neutral pink for cool toned skin, and the Exhilarating Berry (pic above on the left) is great to go out at night or for a quick pulled-together makeup transformation.
Having dry and temperamental winter skin at the moment, I also made sure I drenched with the Revitalising Mask (formerly Rejuvenating Mask), for hours after cleansing and toning as soon as I got home every afternoon, and under moisturiser every day for a few days prior to these shots. I hadn’t used it for quite a while but it’s now firmly back on the list having seen how grateful my skin was for the addition!
